One line, one task. Every non-empty line in a day becomes - [ ] task under a heading for that date. Lines that already start with a Markdown marker — a dash, a #, a quote — are left exactly as written, so notes and headings survive the export intact.
On a phone it's a calendar. The grid turns into big numbers with a dot under the days that have something on them; tap one and its list opens underneath. It's the same data either way — type on the laptop, tick it off on the train.
Days from the neighbouring months are editable too. The greyed cells at either end belong to the month before or after, and anything you put there shows up when you step into that month. Empty days are dropped when you leave, so storage doesn't fill with blanks.
